Fusion Building Systems leads in sustainable construction practices
As Europe's leading provider of pre-insulated light gauge steel frame structures Fusion Building Systems was proud to partake in the 'Consumption & Production' conference and exhibition in London. The event, organised by 'Public Service Events' was held at the Barbican Centre (June 2008), bringing together key industry figures with an over-riding focus on sustainability.
Keynote speakers from strategic governmental departments and Industry specific organisations communicated the importance of reducing resource wastage in industry by creating cross-commerce partnerships and taking advantage of sustainability initiatives that are in place today.
Increasing prosperity, in the UK and across the world, has allowed many people to enjoy the benefits of an unprecedented levels of goods and services. Robert Clark, General Manager UK, of Fusion Building Systems presented a master class entitled 'Producing more…consuming Less' which focused on the need to utilise systems and technologies that deliver results but utilise less material and resources. Mr. Clark highlighted the severe environmental impacts caused by our consumption and production patterns and inefficient use of resources impacts negatively on our economic prosperity.
Mr. Clark stated:
"I believe that the key to influencing truly sustainable behaviour in construction is through the use of regulatory power and hard economics. Sustainable consumption and production is about achieving economic growth whilst respecting environmental limits, finding ways to minimise damage to the natural world and making use of the earth's resources in a sustainable way.
